E-MAIL SETUP INSTRUCTIONS - OUTLOOK EXPRESS

These particular instructions are for an older version of Outlook Express. Click here if using Microsoft Outlook 2010, or 2013. The newer versions come with a fairly user friendly Wizard, but if you run into any roadblocks give us a call (503-869-4970). For Mac instructions, click here.

If using the Wizard setup or the instructions below, you will need to know these four things in advance:

• User Name: name.domain (your e-mail address, with a period replacing the @ symbol, and without the .com)
• Password: ****** (the password we assign) - The password can be changed to any password you want to use, but we need to change it on the server to match - so let us know if you need to change it.
• Mail Server: mail.wordwebdesign.com. Use this for both the incoming & outgoing mail servers (POP & SMTP)
• Ports: Incoming 995 - use SSL. Outgoing 587 - use TLS encryption.

E-mail accounts are 'standard' POP3 accounts. Please contact us for setup on Microsoft Exchange Servers, or for IMAP options.

STEP 1

Open Outlook Express.
First choose Tools (from the pull down menu), and then choose Accounts...

STEP 2

When the Internet Accounts Dialog box opens, click on the Mail tab, then click the Add button, and choose Mail...

STEP 3

Type in a Display name of your choice, and then choose Next>

STEP 4

Enter your email address - New-replace the @ symbol with a period, and remove the .com. Then choose Next>

STEP 5

Choose incoming mail server (POP3).
Type in your mail server address i.e. your web domain address proceeded by mail., instead of www.
NEW - Use mail.wordwebdesign.com for the mail servers (both incoming & outgoing)

STEP 6

Enter your your account name.
Enter the password we provided (case senstive).
Choose Next>

STEP 7

Finish!
